Erosion Control

Erosion Control

Erosion control refers to the movement of materials on slope surfaces caused by rain or other forces, leading to the displacement of soil and other materials.

In slope erosion control, it is generally applied in the development of infrastructure such as channels, slopes, and construction sites to prevent or manage soil erosion by water or wind. Erosion on a hillside can eventually create gullies and valleys, potentially causing rockfalls and landslides. Natural erosion also results in the loss of topsoil and vegetation.

Therefore, re-vegetation of eroded areas should be considered an integral part of all engineering design systems.
Materials Used in Erosion Control

In erosion control applications, the first step is to check whether the existing slope is suitable for the application. Once slope stability is ensured, the appropriate materials and methods should be selected to carry out the necessary work.

Solutions for erosion control are provided by covering the slope surface with geosynthetic materials such as Celltech Geocells, Jeotech Geotextiles, and soil retention products.
