Green Roof Application
Green Roof Application, also known as a green roof, is a low-maintenance vegetated roofing system that stores rainwater in a lightly engineered soil medium where plants absorb it and release it back into the atmosphere.
Green roof applications have been used in Europe for over 30 years; they are easy to incorporate into new constructions and can even be applied to many existing buildings. Green roofs provide an additional insulation layer that reduces heating and cooling costs, and because the roofing material itself is protected from UV radiation and thermal stress, they tend to have a much longer lifespan than traditional roofs. The vegetation on green roofs also improves air quality and enhances the building’s aesthetic appearance.

Materials Used in Green Roof Applications
In green roof applications, drainage panels play an important role in the overall system of a green roof. They retain water and allow excess water to drain away. During dry periods, the stored water can be reabsorbed by the vegetation above. Drainage also contributes to proper aeration of plant roots.
Dratech Drainage Panels, Geotech Geomembranes, and Jeotech Geotextile products can be used in green roof applications.
